Hiring a website developer in India can help you not only save your web design cost but also get a professional & profitable website.
But sometimes, this partnership between you and your Indian website builder can lead to an undesired outcome because of misunderstanding and miscommunication.
In other words, working with website builders in India alone can’t guarantee the successful outcome of your website development.
Therefore, when you hire an Indian website developer, you must make sure that you provide them with all the necessary material or information that shouldn’t leave any space for misunderstanding or miscommunication.
If this is the first time you outsource your web design project to India, this blog post may help you.
Here, we have shared 6 essential materials or details that you must provide your website developer with.
Let’s start!
#1 Proprietary graphics
Before even your website designer in India gets started on creating the mockup for your website, you must share with him all the proprietary graphics such as logos, product images, office images, staff images, etc.
When you do so, it becomes very easy for your website designer to come up with a website design that matches your expectations & brand requirements.
As a web development company in India, we have experienced a few times that when our client doesn’t provide us with all the necessary information, we end up making several iterations to the website design which further delays the project completion deadline.
#2 Reference websites
Now, this is something very important that we always ask our clients for.
At Innomax, when we start the website development process for our clients, we always ask them if they have any reference websites that they like and want their website to have a similar structure or look.
With reference websites, it becomes easier for our web designer to come up with a layout design to match the client’s expectations.
Of course, we do not intend to clone others’ websites, but when our web developers get to see the clients’ tastes & likings, they try their best to deliver even a better job than those reference websites.
#3 Sitemap
What’s a sitemap for the website?
The sitemap contains the list of web pages a website will have.
Your website’s sitemap can contain pages like:
- About Us
- FAQ
- Services
- Testimonials
- Products
- Projects
- Portfolio
- Contact Us
The sitemap of a website is very important for both user experience as well as search engine optimization. It is, therefore, crucial to define a sitemap even before you proceed to create a website.
Most importantly, your website designer or developer should have the sitemap with them while creating the structure or design of your website.
What may happen if you don’t provide your website developer with the sitemap?
Well, after the completion of your website development, if you wish to add a new section that has a different structure/architecture than the other pages of your website, you may have to pay your web developer some additional charges to accommodate your request.
Therefore, have your sitemap ready with you and share it with your web developer before they start working on your website creation.
#4 Content
Now, this is something that you do not have to provide your web developer with before getting started on your website development.
You may supply the content for each page of your website during the development process or even after the development has been completed.
But as we mentioned earlier that defining the sitemap is a crucial part of website development.
Even if you don’t have the webpage content ready with you, you must be able to supply the sitemap to your website builder.
#5 Domain/web hosting details
If the domain & web hosting charges are not part of your website development proposal, you should provide your website developer with the username and password of your domain & hosting control panel.
From where can you get domain/web hosting details?
If you have already booked your domain or web hosting from any hosting company such as GoDaddy or HostGator, you can request them to share the credentials with you.
On the other hand, if your Indian website builder is assisting you to secure your domain name and website hosting, you must ensure to take all the necessary details from them.
If you don’t you will always have to rely on them which sometimes could be very frustrating for you.
