Option #1: Giving full access
This is the first option in which you provide full access to your website hosting and domain name to your website builder in India. In this option, you simply forward the hosting and domain details that you received from your hosting company to your developer. If you do this, make sure that you change the passwords of both domain and hosting access after your website is launched and your web developers don’t need them anymore.
Option #2: Giving restricted access
In this option, you create a user in your hosting/domain access and add your Indian developer’s email so that they can be authorised to use the control panel with their own email and password. This option is partially restricted and comparatively better; however, note that not all hosting and domain registration companies offer the option to add multiple users to access the control panel. Therefore, if you want to give only partial access to your developer, make sure to check with your hosting company, before subscribing with their plan, if their package comes with the option to add multiple users. In this option also, you must ensure to remove their email/access after the website is launched and your developers don’t need the access anymore.
Option #3: Let them host for you
The last option is to let your Indian web developer handle both web hosting and the domain name for you. In this case, you pay your developer and they will arrange everything for you. In this option also, make sure that after the completion of the website development & launch, you must get all the necessary info (hosting access & domain access) during the website handover, so that you have the full ownership of your website.
